New Chair and Chief Executive Appointed for Digital Region Limited

Digital Region Limited has recently made two key appointments to the organisation. Maureen Donnelly has been appointed as the new Chair, and David Holt has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Maureen Donnelly is a successful and respected Director and Chair with extensive experience of the telecoms sector. Working for BT for many years, Maureen became Head of UK Market Planning for the company. She was Commercial Director of COLT Telecom and also the founder and CEO of Manet Telecom before selling it to Redstone plc in 2005, and becoming Commercial Director. Maureen is a trustee of One World Action, a charity working in developing countries that shares a £40 million grant from the Department for International Development with seven other non-governmental organisations.

In her new role Maureen will provide leadership and clear strategic direction to the Digital Region board, and ensure that Digital Region supports the South Yorkshire strategic economic priorities through new broadband technologies.

David Holt also has a long and distinguished career in telecommunications. In 2009 alone, David has been working as Company Director for Improved Potential Limited; a consultant for Buying Solutions, an executive agency for the Office of Government Commerce; and a Product Management Consultant for the multi-award winning research and development company, JUICE Technology Limited.

As the CEO for Digital Region Limited, David will provide executive leadership of the company, and be responsible for developing effective policy, delivering on business objectives, and exploiting the new technology to create real benefits for communities in South Yorkshire.

For many years David has been an ambassador, respected speaker and business leader, promoting the value of next generation networks and services on a global basis on behalf of Nortel and STC. David offers a distinctive blend of business development, management, technical and commercial acumen to deliver change at the forefront of technology.
